Boise, Idaho – July 30, 2021 – Stat PADS, a leading provider of technology-enabled solutions to combat Sudden Cardiac Arrest, is pleased to announce the acquisition of a cutting-edge technology that enables automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to be monitored remotely, called “RMS.”

In conjunction with this acquisition, Stat PADS is now known as RescueStat to more accurately represent the breadth and depth of its services. With the addition of this important technology, RescueStat has significantly enhanced the value it brings to customers and partners working to combat one of this nation’s largest epidemics.

SCA kills more than 350,000 people in the United States each year. Receiving a shock from an AED is the only effective treatment for SCA, but unfortunately, simply having an AED on site does not guarantee a successful response to SCA. That’s where RescueStat comes in. Since 2001, RescueStat has been providing AED Program Management services.

These services help their customers keep their AEDs ready, their people trained, and their organizations compliant. According to RescueStat’s CEO, Carl Dixon, “Our mission is to help save lives and protect companies from the devastating effects of SCA. Our suite of technology-enabled products and services provides our customers with the tools and support they need to be ready to respond. In fact, our customers’ SCA save rates have historically been more than six times higher than the national average for those who do not get treated with an AED. We are very proud of that statistic.”

One of the primary problems in responding to SCA is that in many instances the AED is not ready for use. All too often, the battery or electrode pads have expired. Sometimes, the AED is even missing. With the acquisition of RMS, RescueStat now has the ability to monitor an AED’s readiness status on a daily basis.

According to Dixon, “The RMS technology marks a turning point for the fight against SCA. We believe it is the future of our industry because it removes one of the biggest risk factors for companies who own AEDs. With the support of our experienced team at RescueStat, our customers are alerted when there is a problem and we help get the AED back to a working status.”

RMS has been in development for several years and is currently deployed at a number of companies in the United States, with rapid adoption and expansion on the horizon. In conjunction with the proprietary software, services, and products that RescueStat already offers, customers now have access to the latest technology innovations in AED program management.

Dixon states, “We firmly believe we can help improve survival rates from SCA. We have the tools, technology, and experience to help our customers “rescue” those who fall victim to this sudden, unexpected tragedy. In doing so, we can help rescue companies from the risk of a failed response. We couldn’t be more excited about the work we are doing and the opportunities we see.”
